Celebrities such as Robert Redford, Ellen Degeneres, Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz are all advocates of the green movement, and now you and your society sisters can become more eco-friendly too.  As red hatters, you always wear red--red hats, red boas, and red jewelry--but now it is time to Go Green!

Red hat woman are busy, but with these simple tips you can incorporate green living into your everyday routine.

Step One: Go green as you clean.

Cleaning is something we already do. Instead of purchasing potential harmful products to the environment and your health, check out the latest brands in environmental cleaning for all of your household needs.  Many brand provide environmentally friendly products for cleaning, pet care, laundry and even baby products.

Step Two: Flip the switch on wasted electricity

The average American household continuously looses about fifty watts of electricity. Use a power strip and flip the switch off when you leave the room.  By doing this, we could save $1 billion a year in wasted electricity!.

Step Three: Color your beauty with a hue of green

These are simple ways to reconstruct your hygiene routine into a healthier one.

• Purchase organic cotton balls or bleached without chlorine cotton balls
• Women unintentionally ingest more than four pounds of lipstick in their lifetime. As a result, you want plant-derived ingredients instead of synthetic oils. If as little as 1 in 5 lipstick wearers purchased this alternative, petroleum product consumption would decrease by more than 825,000 pounds per year.
• Products such as eyeshadow and lotion can be eco-friendly and easily be refilled by purchasing a brand with reusable features. For example, reuse a refill flip top lotion container opposed to buying pump bottles frequently.

Step Four: Paper or Plastic?

The ideal choice is packing groceries in reusable canvas bags, but this may not be convenient for some of you. While neither paper or plastic are optimal choices, choose paper. Grocery baggers usually pack more in paper, and these bags are often reusable.

Step Five: There's no use crying over spilled milk, as long as you wipe it up with green paper towel.

When it comes to wiping up a spill or drying your hands, buy paper towel rolls with smaller size sheets. This will extend the life of each roll.  If every U.S. household decreased their paper towel consumption by 3 rolls per year, we would save 120,000 tons or the weight of 9,600 semi trucks.

As you can see, going green can be easy, simple, and very effective. So put on your red hat and start living as a green Queen.
