Red Hat Society International Convention August 2-5, 2018

Celebrate Your Queen

Since Sue Ellen proclaimed herself as the Exalted Queen Mother of the National Red Hats Society, individual chapters have nominated a Queen to represent and direct their chapter. The queen always shows off her pride and wears her red hat and purple outfit. These ideas will assist you in hosting a royal gala for your Queen.

Calling all Red Hat Royalty

Invite your fellow red hat sisters to the "All Hail the Queen" party with these creative and festive invitations. Grab a deck of red hat cards and take out the Queen cards to use as the invitation base. Cover the back of the queen card with red paper, then write all of the details of your event with a purple marker. Add an even more innovative touch by featuring a picture of your Queen on the face side of the card, just scan her picture and adjust it to the right size.

Prepare the Palace

The establishment of the royal round table was introduced in 1155 to allow every man to be seen and heard at feasts and gatherings. Recreate this royal tradition at your Queen's party with some red hat flare. The round table is where the dining, infinite amount of gossip, and endless laughter will take place, so be sure to make it stand out. Add a punch of color to the round table by scattering red and purple wraphia pieces across the table, hanging extra length over the edges. Place food, like rolls or cookies, in a quaint red hat handmade basket, and make sure every place setting is complete with red hat place cards and a red hat mug. Don't forget the Queen Bee Mug for the headmistress's seat.

Game and Gab Time

Each woman needs to grab a piece of paper and establish what she thinks someone is the "Queen of" at the round table. You may write such things as "Queen of scrapbooking" or "Queen of joke telling." Get creative and describe your fellow red hat sisters. Place all of the pieces of paper in a red hat and have The Queen draw each one and reading them aloud. The red hat sisters need to work together to guess which red hatters is that queen.

Don't forget to band together to purchase the Queen a festive red hat sash and crown for the occasion.
